About Me

In 2006 I started cleaning out my headboard at my parent's home in NY.  After growing up going to and performing in a multitude of theatrical performances, I'd acquired many shirts and sweatshirts along the way.  While I hadn't worn many of them in a long time, I didn't want to just throw them away.  I decided to repurpose one into a bag, so that I could keep the memory with me always.  A friend mentioned she liked the bag and suggested I make more and try out a craft fair.  That was the beginning of Broadway Bags.

Since then, friends and family alike have generously donated their shirts, as well as my own time scouring through thrift stores.  Because of this, I am able to keep my prices down, which I prefer to do for my customers! :) As you can see, there are plenty more shows on my sewing table awaiting their revival.  Enjoy the site and please let me know if you're interested in a bag!
